Mil Palmeras Spain

Published on by Steve Locke

Overview of Mil Palmeras - Based in the province of Alicante between Torre Horadada and Dehesa de Campoamor beside the N-332 coastal route, Mil Palmeras is a small seaside resort that's part of the Orihuela Coast region. The name of the town literally means one thousand palms which probably comes from the many palm trees which exist around the town. It is a favoured destination mainly due to its closeness to golf courses, superb facilities, clear and warm waters, wonderful sandy beaches and its wonderful weather. On the whole a typical Spanish beach resort and ideal for a stress free holiday in the sun.

The beach has all the customary features including parasols, pedal boats for hire, WC's, changing area, volley ball nets, snack bar, sun loungers and parking. The beach is in many peoples opinion one of the best beaches you will find on the Orihuela Costa coast with the sparkling clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea and clean well cared for sand. The beach has the name Playa de Mil Palmeras and meanders along to a beach named Riomar.

One of the primary attractions which draws holidaymakers to the town is its wonderful climate, benefiting from around three hundred days of sunshine every year. The months of June to September are when the sunniest weather is enjoyed in the area, however for for anyone desperate to get away from the long winter months of the countries of Northern Europe the wintertime is equally appealing with lots of sunny days still on offer.

Other Alicante places that you may easily explore whilst staying at Mil Palmeras include: Punta Prima, El Mojon, Pilar de la Horadada, Aguamarina, Las Ramblas and others.

Both Murcia (San Javier) and Alicante airports easily reached from the resort, Alicante airport is 72.4 kilometres drive and San Javier (Murcia) airport is seventeen minutes drive, you may use either the AP-7 motorway or the N-332 coast road.
